Camborne Students Graduate from Jon Egging Trust Blue Skies Programme
Blue Skies Programme Celebrates First Graduates at CSIA
Nine Year 8 students from Camborne Science and International Academy (CSIA) have proudly graduated from a new programme designed to boost confidence and ambition, marking a significant milestone for both the school and the Jon Egging Trust.
The students, all part of the first-ever Blue Skies programme to run at the school, have spent the past academic year developing their resilience, communication and teamwork skills through a series of inspiring and challenging activities.
Designed to Support and Empower
The Blue Skies programme is aimed at young people who may be struggling to fully engage with school, helping them rediscover their motivation and self-belief. Through activities focused on science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM), students are encouraged to think about their futures and build skills for life.
The Jon Egging Trust, which runs the programme, offers long-term support to young people across the country, helping them build aspiration, informed career thinking and confidence.
A Powerful Celebration
At the final celebration event, students delivered moving speeches about their journey, reflecting on how much they had grown over the year. Their courage and maturity impressed staff, mentors and guests alike.
Emma Haase, Principal of Camborne Science and International Academy, said:
“We are incredibly proud of our Year 8 students who have completed this transformative programme. Watching them grow in confidence and realise their potential has been truly inspiring. The Jon Egging Trust’s work aligns beautifully with our values, and we’re excited to see our students continue their journey into the second year of the programme.”
A Lasting Impact
The nine students are the first to complete the programme at CSIA, but the school says this is just the beginning. It plans to continue working with the Jon Egging Trust to provide more extraordinary experiences that help students unlock their potential.
Camborne Science and International Academy, which is rated Good for Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, and Leadership and Management, and Outstanding for its Sixth Form, says it is committed to creating a secure, supportive and challenging environment where all students can thrive.
