Exciting Transformation of Callington’s Rosemullion Gardens Park Unveiled
Rosemullion Gardens Park in Callington has undergone a vibrant transformation, thanks to a collaborative effort spearheaded by Callington Town Council, with significant support from The Lions Club of Callington. The park, a popular spot for local families and children, now boasts a fresh, welcoming appearance after a series of renovations that have revitalised the area.
Community Collaboration at its Best
The Town Council secured funding that played a crucial role in moving the project forward, enabling the employment of local artist Brad Waters. Brad was tasked with designing a bright and engaging mural tailored for young children, which now adds a splash of colour and creativity to the park.
The Lions Club of Callington contributed significantly to the project by preparing the mural space. They power-washed the wall and applied a base coat of paint, ready for Brad to bring his artistic vision to life. Their efforts didn’t stop there; they also cleaned all the park’s equipment, trimmed back overgrown vegetation, and weeded the entire area, ensuring a clean and safe environment for visitors.
In addition to the mural, funding allowed for the installation of a new wooden panel fence, erected in front of the old wire fencing. This improvement, provided by JJ’s Garden Products, has enhanced the park’s security, making it a safer space for the children who frequent the area.
Grand Reopening
The park was officially reopened on Tuesday, 30th July, with a special ceremony led by Portreeve & Mayor of Callington, Steve Pound. The event, attended by local youngsters and invited guests, showcased the transformed space. Attendees were particularly impressed by the mural designed by Brad, which has become a focal point of the park’s makeover.
The collaboration between the Town Council, The Lions Club, Brad Waters, John, and the Town Council Outside Services staff has resulted in a brighter, cleaner, and more secure park that is sure to be enjoyed by the community for years to come.
