Trio of Cornish Businesses Honoured with King’s Award for Enterprise at Celebratory Breakfast

Three Cornish businesses recently celebrated their recognition in the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise at a special Business Breakfast hosted by the Cornwall Lieutenancy.
The event, held at St Eval Candle Company, a 2021 Queen’s Award for Enterprise winner, brought together Teagle Machinery, Made for Life Organics, and Lynher Dairies, all of whom were honoured for their outstanding contributions to various sectors.
Recognition from the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall
Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho, Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, praised the businesses for their exceptional achievements. Speaking at the event, he highlighted Cornwall’s leadership in innovation, exporting, and sustainability. Edward remarked, “Cornwall is leading the way in so many areas. These three businesses are truly exceptional and represent the very best in the UK. They are an inspiration, and I am delighted to congratulate them on their outstanding success and thank them for their invaluable contribution to the prosperity of Cornwall.”
A Gathering of Cornwall’s Business Community
The breakfast event saw over 60 representatives from Cornwall’s business community come together to celebrate and learn more about the UK’s most prestigious business awards. The King’s Award for Enterprise rewards achievements in innovation, international trade, sustainable development, and social mobility.
Looking Ahead: Nominations for 2025 Awards
Nominations for the 2025 edition of the King’s Award for Enterprise are currently open until 12th September. Eligible businesses are encouraged to apply for one or more categories. The assessment process is rigorous, judged by experts from industry, academia, the voluntary sector, and senior officials in Whitehall. The recipients of the King’s Awards for Enterprise are recommended by the Prime Minister.
Formal Award Presentations to Come
Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho will formally present individual awards to Teagle Machinery, Made for Life Organics, and Lynher Dairies in the coming months, further celebrating their significant achievements.
This event not only honoured the current awardees but also aimed to inspire and encourage other businesses in Cornwall to strive for excellence and consider applying for future awards.
