Is This the End of Traditional Solar Farms? Cornish Company Strikes Deal with German Innovators
Cornwall is solidifying its reputation as a hub for renewable energy innovation, as Vertical PV UK Ltd announces exclusive distribution agreements with two German start-ups aiming to change the way solar power is deployed in the UK.
The company has secured agreements with Next2Sun and SOLYCO, both known for their cutting-edge renewable energy solutions. These partnerships will bring vertical solar PV products to agricultural, commercial, industrial, and domestic markets across the country.
A New Era for Farming and Solar Power
For years, solar farms have sparked controversy due to their impact on agricultural land, often limiting its use to grazing. However, Fin McCormick, Managing Director of Vertical PV UK, believes this new approach can resolve the conflict between farming and renewable energy.
“This is a potentially revolutionary development in the field of renewable energy generation and we are proud to be working with our German counterparts to create a genuinely more sustainable country,” said Fin.
“Recently we have seen a series of controversial solar farm projects that reduce valuable arable land to, at best, grazing land for sheep. With our vertical PV products, farmers can enjoy the benefits of having a solar farm on their land whilst still being able to farm a huge variety of crops.”
Beyond Agriculture: Green Roofs and Solar Fences
The partnerships will also introduce innovative solar solutions beyond farmland. Vertical PV UK is supplying electrical and solar installation companies with green roof vertical solar, which allows for thriving rooftop vegetation alongside solar panels. Additionally, solar fences and wall-mounted solar panels will help businesses and homeowners maximise their solar energy potential.
By integrating these technologies, the company aims to reshape how solar energy is implemented across the UK—without compromising valuable land.
With growing demand for sustainable solutions, this shift could mark the beginning of the end for traditional solar farms.
