Xantaro, Europe’s leading provider of high-performance networks and security solutions, has been chosen by Wildanet to drive forward the deployment of a state-of-the-art Full Fibre network across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The partnership marks a significant milestone in the region’s digital transformation, with the project aimed at bringing gigabit-capable broadband to some of the UK’s most remote and underserved areas.
Wildanet, Cornwall’s largest alternative network provider (AltNet), has already partnered with Nokia to hasten the rollout of its cutting-edge network infrastructure. By enlisting Xantaro, Wildanet aims to further enhance the speed and efficiency of the deployment, ensuring that rural and hard-to-reach communities in the South West gain access to faster, more reliable internet services.

Streamlined Solutions for Rapid Deployment
Xantaro will be responsible for sourcing, building, and installing the necessary street cabinets and exchange solutions integral to the Full Fibre network. These fully integrated systems will arrive on-site pre-built and configured, incorporating advanced technologies such as Nokia’s Optical Line Terminals (OLT), VIAVI centralised Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) test heads, and Out of Band (OOB) management solutions. This setup allows for the remote management of network components even before the backhaul is in place, ensuring a seamless and efficient rollout.
The deployment of these technologies will be complemented by Xantaro’s professional services, which include network configuration and architectural design optimisation. This holistic approach is set to significantly reduce the time required to establish and activate the network, enabling Wildanet to deliver on its commitment to improving connectivity across the region without unnecessary delays.

A Trusted Partnership for a Future-Proof Network
Xantaro’s selection for this project comes as no surprise given its impressive track record in delivering complex network solutions for service providers across Europe. With a deep well of in-house technical expertise and a long-standing partnership with Nokia, Xantaro is well-equipped to handle the demands of this ambitious project.
Stephen Kingdom, Chief Technology Officer of Fixed Networks at Xantaro, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the collaboration: “Xantaro is delighted to have been selected by Wildanet to construct one of the UK’s most resilient, high-capacity, and future-proof networks. Drawing on our extensive experience with altnets across the UK and our longstanding partnership with Nokia, we are pleased to be delivering cutting-edge cabinet technology and professional services to Wildanet. Together, we will accelerate the deployment of fibre and essential connectivity to underserved communities.”
