Beach Retreats Acquired by Travel Chapter to Support Growth
Holiday homes by the sea set for growth under new ownership
Beach Retreats has joined one of the UK’s top holiday letting agencies
Cornwall-based holiday brand Beach Retreats has officially joined the Travel Chapter group, in a move designed to fuel future growth and expand its reach across key coastal destinations.
Previously owned by Watergate Bay Hotel, Beach Retreats is known for its carefully curated collection of over 230 design-led, self-catering properties – each within walking distance of the Cornish coast. The business will continue to operate from its Cornwall base under its new ownership, with Travel Chapter providing support for both growth and continuity.
Travel Chapter aims to strengthen coastal offerings
Travel Chapter is the company behind the well-known brand holidaycottages.co.uk and is one of the UK’s leading names in holiday lettings. Its CEO, Jayne McClure, said:
“Beach Retreats is a brand we’ve admired for a number of years. Their commitment to curating high-quality properties with a service-first mindset aligns perfectly with our vision at Travel Chapter. We’re proud to welcome the team and look forward to supporting the brand’s continued success as part of our growing portfolio. We’re committed to delivering success for Beach Retreats’ existing owners and continuing to deliver special memories for Beach Retreats guests for many years to come.”
The acquisition supports Travel Chapter’s ambition to strengthen its presence in coastal areas while maintaining a strong focus on service and regional identity.
Watergate Bay Hotel confident in the new direction
Ben Harper, CEO of Watergate Bay Hotel Group, commented:
“We’re excited to see Beach Retreats continue to grow under the Travel Chapter business. The brand has always had bold ambitions, and we’ve been careful in choosing the right partner to continue its journey. Travel Chapter’s values and track record give us full confidence in a strong future for the team, the homeowners and the properties they represent.”
What this means for holidaymakers and homeowners
Guests booking through Beach Retreats can expect the same high standards and coastal locations the brand is known for, now with the backing of a larger network. For property owners, the deal brings access to wider marketing and support through Travel Chapter’s established systems, while keeping the local touch Beach Retreats has become trusted for.
Beach Retreats will remain headquartered in Cornwall and continue operating under its existing name, with plans to expand its reach and offering in the months and years ahead.
