Dane Brown Joins Persimmon Homes Cornwall & West Devon as New Contracts Manager

A former soldier who served around the world is now taking on a new mission in Cornwall — helping deliver much-needed new homes.

Dane Brown brings global experience to regional housebuilding

Dane Brown has been appointed as Contracts Manager for Persimmon Homes Cornwall & West Devon. The Stoke-on-Trent native joins after six years with Vistry, where he worked as a Site Manager.

His journey into construction began as a builder before he joined the Army, serving for 11 years on various projects in Afghanistan, Canada, Cyprus, and the Falkland Islands. During that time, Dane gained several ILM qualifications and developed valuable leadership experience.

Career in construction spans Midlands, Devon and beyond

Following his military career, Dane took on roles as an Assistant Site Manager with Bovis and later a Section Manager at Wates, where he oversaw retrofit works in apartment blocks in Birmingham. Most recently, he worked for Vistry before joining Persimmon.

He holds an NVQ Level 6 in construction and has worked on sites across the Midlands and Devon. Now, his focus is firmly on the South West.

Supporting growth across Cornwall and West Devon

In his new role, Dane will oversee contractual compliance, drive efficiency, and manage key relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers.

Speaking about the move, Dane said:

“I came to Persimmon for a new challenge, something that I relish. I love the team environment and atmosphere around the business, which matters a lot to me having moved here from another part of the country.

“This new role is a great opportunity at an exciting business with ambitious plans and I look forward to growing within the business.”
