£20,000+ Grants Up for Grabs – Could Your Business Qualify?
Businesses across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly have a new funding opportunity, with grants ranging from £20,000 to £200,000 now available through the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub. These grants are designed to help businesses expand, innovate, and boost productivity, with priority given to key sectors that drive the local economy.
Who Can Apply?
The grant scheme is open to trading businesses, sole traders, social enterprises, and Community Interest Companies (CICs) operating in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. To qualify, businesses must:
- Provide match funding (at least 50% of the total project cost).
- Pay or commit to paying the Real Living Wage.
- Contribute to the Good Growth Principles.
Priority Sectors
While funding is open to all businesses with growth ambitions, those operating in the following sectors will be prioritised:
🔸 Critical Minerals
🔸 Renewable Energy – including floating offshore wind, deep geothermal, and biomethane capture
🔸 Data, Space, and Aerospace
🔸 Marine – including floating offshore wind opportunities and shipping decarbonisation
🔸 Visitor Economy
🔸 Agri-food
🔸 Creative and Cultural Industries – with a focus on digital and tech
What Can the Grant Be Used For?
The funding supports projects that can:
✅ Create new jobs
✅ Safeguard existing jobs
✅ Increase productivity
✅ Introduce new products or services
✅ Adopt new technologies or processes
✅ Expand into new markets
✅ Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
Businesses can use the grant for capital and revenue costs, including equipment, building works, and consultancy fees that align with the scheme’s goals.
What Can’t Be Funded?
There are restrictions on what the grant can be used for, including:
❌ Staff costs
❌ Routine repairs or replacements
❌ Business-as-usual activities
❌ Vehicle purchases (including electric vehicles)
❌ The creation or upgrading of visitor accommodation
❌ Solar installations without battery storage unless all energy is used on-site
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted online by 5pm on Thursday 27th February 2025. The process requires confirmation of eligibility before proceeding with the form. Businesses can save progress and return to complete their applications later.
