Get Married in the Sea: Bude Sea Pool’s Unique Wedding Venue Plans
Bude, Cornwall – A Seaside Wedding Revolution
Bude Sea Pool is making waves with its latest announcement: the popular Cornwall attraction is seeking to become the UK’s first licensed wedding venue where couples can get married in the sea. This ambitious plan aims to offer a truly unique setting for couples looking to exchange their vows surrounded by the natural beauty of the ocean.
Mass Commitment Ceremony Kicks Off Wedding Venue Plans
To launch this new venture, Bude Sea Pool will host a ‘Mass Commitment Ceremony’ on 1st September. The event invites individuals to publicly declare their love and commitment to a partner, friend, pet, or even a cherished group. Led by local celebrant Jac Wills, the ceremony is designed purely for enjoyment and carries no legal binding, but it promises to be a fun and festive occasion.
Participants can choose to make their commitment on, in, or around the iconic sea pool. For those looking for a more adventurous experience, Rob McPaddle’s MegaSUP will be available for those who wish to float on the water during the ceremony.
A Unique Wedding Venue in the Making
Elaine Viner, the Events Lead at Bude Sea Pool, shared the inspiration behind the project, noting that the pool has already been a popular spot for marriage proposals. With numerous inquiries about hiring the pool as a wedding venue, Elaine expressed her excitement at the possibility of offering couples the chance to tie the knot in the sea.
“There’s no other location in the UK that offers the chance to get married in seawater,” Elaine said. “This would be a truly unique opportunity.”
Event Details and Registration Information
The ‘Mass Commitment Ceremony’ is set to begin at 13:30 on 1st September, with registration opening an hour earlier at 12:30. To participate, interested parties can register by emailing eventslead@budeseapool.org or simply by showing up at the pool on the day.
This event is not just about celebrating love but also about generating interest in the Bude Sea Pool as a wedding venue. If successful, Bude Sea Pool could make history as the UK’s first seawater wedding venue, offering couples a one-of-a-kind backdrop for their special day.
