The Bude Coastguard Rescue Team recently announced the addition of two new Coastguard Rescue Officers (CROs), Bryn and Josh, bolstering their ranks to a total of 12 dedicated personnel.

Both Bryn and Josh completed their intensive training program throughout January and February, a rigorous process designed to prepare them for a wide range of rescue operations.

Their training encompassed emergency first aid, rope rescue techniques, water rescue skills, and procedures for searching lost and missing persons, along with other critical competencies required for their roles. This comprehensive preparation ensures that the new officers are well-equipped to handle the diverse challenges faced by the coastguard team.

Now fully integrated into the team, Bryn and Josh are in the process of consolidating their newfound skills through regular training sessions and practical exercises. They have also started participating in actual call-outs, gaining real-world experience in responding to emergencies. This hands-on approach is vital for their development as Rescue Officers and contributes significantly to the team’s overall readiness.

The Bude Coastguard Rescue Team, now stronger with its 12 Rescue Officers, remains committed to providing emergency response services along the coast, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This reinforcement of the team underscores their dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the community and visitors alike.
