Cycling Challenge Aims to Raise Funds for Global’s Make Some Noise

Heart Breakfast’s Amanda Holden is gearing up for a massive cycling challenge, covering over 250 miles from Bude in Cornwall to London. Starting on Monday, 7th October, Amanda will ride through Somerset, Berkshire, Wiltshire, and Surrey before arriving at Heart’s headquarters in Leicester Square, London, on Friday, 11th October.

This mammoth journey, dubbed ‘Amanda Holden’s Big Ride To Work’, is being undertaken to raise money for Heart’s charity, Global’s Make Some Noise. Amanda will be cycling for eight hours each day over the five-day challenge.

Riding for a Cause

Global’s Make Some Noise supports small charities across the UK, helping fund projects that tackle critical issues such as mental health, poverty, and homelessness. The charity plays a key role in making a difference for those in need, and Amanda’s challenge is aimed at raising significant funds to support this vital work.

Amanda is no stranger to tough challenges, having previously completed the Three Peaks Challenge, a 10,000-foot skydive, and even climbed Blackpool Tower—all in aid of the same charity. However, this will be the longest and farthest she has ever cycled before.

Support from the Studio

While Amanda cycles across the UK, Jason King (JK) will be holding down the fort in the Heart studios, cheering her on and keeping listeners updated throughout the week. JK will also be interviewing individuals who have benefitted from Global’s Make Some Noise and showcasing the positive impact of the charity’s work.

To keep track of Amanda’s journey, listeners can tune in to Heart or follow the event on social media. Donations can be made via text to support Amanda’s efforts and help raise funds for the cause. To donate £10, £20, £30, or £40, text AMANDA10, AMANDA20, AMANDA30, or AMANDA40 to 70766. 100% of donations will go to Global’s Make Some Noise. A Heartfelt Send-Off from Cornwall

Amanda will begin her journey from her mum’s house in Bude, receiving a warm Cornish send-off before embarking on the long ride to London. With a hilly route ahead, she is set for a physically demanding challenge, but her commitment to raising funds for local projects will keep her motivated.
