Upcoming Trail Diversions and Closures Announced for Cardinham Woods

Published On: 14 February 2024Last Updated: 14 February 2024By

Cardinham Woods, managed by Forestry England, has announced a series of trail diversions and closures starting Monday, 19th February, due to forest operations. The initial phase of the operations will affect both walking and cycling trails within the area.

For walkers, the Wheel Glynn trail and its surrounding area will be temporarily closed. Cyclists will also face closures; the Hells Teeth trail and a portion of the Bodmin Beast will be inaccessible during this time. However, a diversion has been planned along the Lady Vale route, allowing cyclists to rejoin the Bodmin Beast trail further along.

Forestry England advises visitors to stay informed of further closures and diversions by checking their Facebook page regularly. Signage will be placed throughout the woods to ensure the safety of both visitors and staff during the operations. Despite the disruptions, the Woods Café and play area will remain open, ensuring that visitors can still enjoy parts of Cardinham Woods.

Forestry England expresses its gratitude for the public’s patience and acknowledges the uncertainty that has surrounded their forest operations this year. For any concerns or inquiries, visitors are encouraged to reach out to the ranger team.
