Country Music Invades Cornwall: What’s Happening at St Tudy Inn This May Bank Holiday?

A Nashville-style country music festival is coming to North Cornwall for the first time ever this May Bank Holiday, promising a weekend of live music, BBQ, dancing and family fun.

Tennessee Hills Backyard Sessions Heads to Bodmin

Taking place on 24th–25th May 2025, Tennessee Hills Backyard Sessions is a brand-new outdoor country music event being held at the award-winning St Tudy Inn in Bodmin. Set against the backdrop of the scenic Cornish countryside, the event is being billed as a family-friendly celebration of everything country.

Music fans can expect an impressive line-up featuring some of the UK’s best tribute acts, including tributes to country superstar Luke Combs, Shania Twain and Fleetwood Mac. Cornwall’s own talent is also taking to the stage, with performances from Bailey Tomkinson & The Locals, Our Atlantic Roots, Alex Hart and more.

Southern Flavours and Line Dancing

The music may be the headline act, but the event promises much more than just the tunes. Guests can tuck into an authentic American-style BBQ and smoker menu, with smoky Deep South-inspired flavours served up by the St Tudy Inn, which recently earned an AA Rosette for culinary excellence.

There will also be line dancing workshops led by Helen Parkyn, a Cornwall-based instructor who was recently nominated for a UK Line Dancing Award. Whether you’re a complete beginner or know your grapevines from your heel digs, everyone’s welcome to join in.

Weekend Camping and Family-Friendly Vibes

Tennessee Hills Backyard Sessions is designed with families in mind. Children under 10 go free, and day tickets are priced at £30, making it an accessible event for all ages.

Camping is available nearby at Camp De Lank, a local countryside campsite offering not just pitches but also glamping and an onsite sauna, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of music and dancing.

The festival is the first of many Tennessee Hills Events expected to pop up across the South West in the future.
