Beacon Ace Academy Students Join Community Effort to Clean Up Bodmin
On 16th October, a group of four volunteers from the Bodmin Tidy it Team joined two classes of children from Beacon Ace Academy in a litter-picking session across several locations. The team, along with the students, worked their way through Monument Way, Burden Close, Kinsman’s, and the Beacon Woods, collecting a significant amount of waste.
Hectic but Rewarding
Despite the hectic nature of the task, the effort was deemed enjoyable, and the children made a notable contribution. Together, they managed to collect 7 bags of rubbish and 5 bags of recycling. Trish, one of the volunteers, added a further 3 bags, while Ros contributed 4 more, along with 25 Carlsberg and wine bottles found in the lane beside Scarlett’s Well. This effort brings the team’s total collection to an impressive 743 bags.
Next Clean-Up Planned
The Bodmin Tidy it Team is already looking ahead to their next clean-up effort. They plan to meet again on Wednesday, 23rd October, at 10 a.m. in the car park at Asda. It has been two months since their last visit to the area, and they are eager to see what the next round of cleaning will bring.
