Travel Information For Boardmasters 2024: New Park & Ride and Expanded Coach Routes for Hassle-Free Travel

Published On: 22 June 2024Last Updated: 22 June 2024By

With the excitement building and less than 50 days to go until Boardmasters 2024, festival organisers have released crucial travel information to ensure attendees can easily navigate their way to Cornwall’s renowned surf and music festival.

The event, taking place from 7th-11th August at Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach in Newquay, promises an unforgettable experience for all. Here’s what you need to know to plan your journey.

Introducing the Park & Ride Service for Day Ticket Holders

This year, Boardmasters is launching a convenient Park & Ride service aimed at reducing the festival’s environmental impact and easing traffic congestion. Located at the White Car Park, St Columb Major, the Park & Ride offers a budget-friendly travel option for day ticket holders. Parking prices start at just £10, and the bus ride costs £3.50 each way.

The Park & Ride service provides 24-hour security, making it a safe and practical choice for groups. Attendees can park their cars and be dropped off right at the festival gates, ensuring a hassle-free start to their day. To guarantee the best prices, it is advisable to purchase parking passes in advance when buying festival tickets or as an add-on later. Buses will operate from early morning until after the music ends, using a simple tap and ride system.

Festival organisers recommend using the Park & Ride service instead of the pick-up and drop-off option to further reduce the festival’s impact on the local area. The walk from the new pick-up and drop-off location to the main campsites is between 40-60 minutes, whereas the Park & Ride drop-off point is just a 15-minute walk to the festival site.

Expanded Coach Routes for Easy Access

In partnership with Big Green Coach, Boardmasters is expanding its coach travel options, offering over 80 national routes to and from the festival. This provides a convenient and eco-friendly travel option for both camping and day ticket holders.

For day ticket holders, a Day + Coach Package is available with pick-ups from 14 locations across the South West, including Bodmin, Cornwall Services, Exeter, Falmouth, Helston, Launceston, Liskeard, Okehampton, Penzance, Plymouth, Roche, St Austell, Treverbyn, and Truro. These coaches will arrive at the festival by 11 am and depart after the headliners finish, making travel smooth and straightforward.

Shuttle Buses for Train Travellers and Newquay Visitors

Those staying in Newquay or arriving by train can utilise the official Boardmasters shuttle buses running from Newquay to the festival site. The cost for a single journey on these shuttle buses is £3.50, providing an affordable and convenient option for festival-goers.

Boardmasters 2024 is set to be a spectacular event, and with these new travel options, getting there has never been easier. Ensure you plan ahead and make the most of these convenient services to enjoy a seamless festival experience.
