Great Cornish Food Store to Host Free Weekend Festival in July

A brand new celebration of Cornish food and drink is coming to Truro this July – and it’s free to attend.

The Great Cornish Food Weekend

Running from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th July, the first-ever Great Cornish Food Weekend will bring tastings, live music, cooking demos and children’s activities to the Great Cornish Food Store, just off the A390 in Truro.

The mini-festival is set to showcase the very best of Cornwall’s summer produce – covering everything from farming and fishing to artisan drinks and seasonal feasts.

Ruth Huxley, managing director of the Great Cornish Food Store and founder of Cornwall Food & Drink, said:

“The first-ever Great Cornish Food Weekend is designed to celebrate all that is great about our thriving food and drink industry.
It will be a chance to meet a wide range of producers from across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in a relaxed and friendly setting, hear their stories and learn some of the secrets of their success.”

Packed Programme of Local Flavours

The three-day event will include producer talks, interactive sessions, and food and drink tastings. Outside the store there’ll be café seating, family fun and a pop-up barbecue.

• Moosh Mallows

• Callestick Farm

• Lynher Dairies

• Furniss Foods

• Wild Pesto

• Tarquin’s Gin

• 8Track Rum

• Knightor Winery

• Cornish Sea Salt

Local schools will also be given the opportunity to meet the producers and take part.

Supporting Cornish Farming and Food Futures

The event will also align with the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Agrifood Strategy and Action Plan, which launched earlier this year and aims to promote regenerative, high-quality food and drink across the region.

How to Get There

Truro Park and Ride will be running across the full weekend, including Sunday, making it easy to get to the event.
