The Cinnamon Trust makes 2025 Sunday Times Best Places to Work list

Cornwall-based national charity The Cinnamon Trust has once again been named one of the UK’s top medium-sized employers, appearing on The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list for the second year in a row.

The charity, headquartered in Hayle, re-entered the awards in 2025 to collect honest feedback from its team and gain a clearer picture of its workplace culture.

Survey Results Improve Across the Board

Every member of the team completed a 26-question anonymous survey, which covered everything from job satisfaction to how empowered they feel in their roles.

This year, scores went up across all six categories measured, with highlights including:

  • 86% average happiness rating

  • 87% for job satisfaction

  • 92% pride in their work

  • 89% confidence in the management team

“Not Just a Workplace”

Patrick Williams, CEO of The Cinnamon Trust, said:

“The past two years have brought significant change and growth for The Cinnamon Trust. To navigate it well, listening closely to our team and nurturing our mission from within was absolutely key.

“Last year’s results reassured us that we were heading in the right direction; but this year’s incredible feedback truly affirms that we’re building something lasting. It shows that The Cinnamon Trust is not just a workplace, but a place where people find joy, support, and real purpose.

“We’re immensely proud to have achieved an ‘Excellent’ rating in every category.”

What’s Behind the High Scores?

Several things appear to have helped the team thrive, including:

  • Flexi days on top of annual leave

  • A dog-friendly office

  • Wellbeing events

  • Opportunities for professional development

  • Fun team activities

  • Discounted pet food

  • A 5% pension contribution

How the List Is Compiled

The Sunday Times rankings are based on a survey designed by WorkL and developed with input from behavioural scientists, psychologists and independent experts.

To qualify, organisations must meet a minimum response rate and achieve an average employee engagement score of over 70%. High scorers also need to perform well across all six key areas.

The Cinnamon Trust is a national charity supporting elderly and terminally ill people with their pets. Their headquarters is at 10 Market Square, Hayle, Cornwall TR27 4HE. Charity Number: 1134680.
