Sustainable Fashion Supporting Seal Rescue

The Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek has received a boost from ethical clothing brand Blue Panda Clothing, which has donated over £400 to support the rehabilitation of rescued seal pups.

Since 2023, Blue Panda Clothing has contributed £413.12 from sales of their seal-branded merchandise, with 15% of every sale from the range going directly to the sanctuary. In addition, they have donated accessories to the Fund Our Future online auction, which proved to be a hit with supporters.

Why the Support Matters

The Cornish Seal Sanctuary has been rescuing and rehabilitating seal pups since it was founded in 1975. Each year, they take in over 50 sick, injured or distressed pups, providing them with expert veterinary care before returning them to the wild. With each pup costing around £2,000 to rehabilitate, donations play a vital role in ensuring the sanctuary can continue its work.

Alongside rescue efforts, the sanctuary also provides permanent homes for seals that cannot be released and raises awareness about marine litter and conservation.
