Camborne Science & International Academy (CSIA), part of the Athena Learning Trust, is celebrating a significant achievement as its Sixth Form provision has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted. This makes CSIA the only school Sixth Form in Cornwall to receive this high distinction.

What Ofsted Highlighted

Ofsted inspectors praised the school’s commitment to academic excellence, particularly in its Sixth Form. Leaders have constructed a well-sequenced, broad, and relevant curriculum, which Ofsted noted is both well-designed and effectively implemented. The inspectors also highlighted CSIA’s focus on maintaining high standards of behaviour across the school.

In addition to the strong academic provision, the careers guidance offered at CSIA stood out. Students reported they felt well-supported, with help in securing university placements or apprenticeships. Inspectors noted that the careers advice provided at CSIA helps students make informed decisions about their future, whether it’s higher education, apprenticeships, or direct employment.

CSIA’s Sixth Form boasts a 100% pass rate since 2015, underlining the academy’s focus on student success. The school’s dedication to providing tailored support to each student has made it a standout option for families in Cornwall.
