Cockwells of Mylor to Showcase Award-Winning 13m Limousine Tender

A renowned Cornish boatbuilder is set to make waves on the global stage as Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding, based at Mylor Creek Boatyard near Falmouth, takes their award-winning 13m Limousine Tender to the Monaco Yacht Show. From 25th to 28th September, visitors to Stand QJ5 will have the rare chance to experience this luxurious vessel, which has been meticulously crafted in Cornwall.

Cornish Craftsmanship on Display

Known for its bespoke superyacht tenders and motor launches, Cockwells’ latest creation is part of a quartet of custom tenders for the 112m megayacht Renaissance. The 13m Limousine Tender, making its international debut at the prestigious yacht show, showcases the exceptional craftsmanship and technological innovation that has made Cockwells a leader in the industry.

The elegant vessel features an opulent cabin designed to match the styling of both the mothership and the client’s private jet. It includes three reclining seats, a dinette area, and a bench seat, alongside luxurious amenities such as air-conditioning, heating, and a drinks refrigerator. The tender’s performance is equally impressive, thanks to twin Yanmar 8LV engines and a Seakeeper stabiliser, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride.

A Proud Moment for Cornwall

For a boatbuilding company from Cornwall to be recognised on such a prestigious international platform is a testament to the skill and dedication of the team at Cockwells. Their environmentally-friendly headquarters at Mylor Creek Boatyard, along with their acquisition of The Southwest Shipyard at Ponsharden, has enabled them to expand their production capabilities and continue their tradition of creating world-class vessels.

“We are thrilled to be exhibiting the 13m Limousine for the first and possibly the only time at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show and thank her owners for their generosity in enabling us to do so,” explained Founder, Dave Cockwell. “Our team will be on hand to share information about the quartet of custom tenders that we were proud to create for Renaissance, as well as other striking superyacht tenders that we have recently delivered.”

Global Recognition for Cornish Excellence

The tender’s exquisite design and engineering earned it the Judges’ Commendation in the Tender of the Year category at the 2024 BOAT International Design and Innovation Awards. This recognition highlights not only the high standards of Cockwells but also the global appeal of Cornish craftsmanship.

The main vessel, Renaissance, designed by Bannenberg & Rowell and built by Freire Shipyard in Spain, will also be present at the show, along with three other Cockwells-built custom tenders. These include the 13m Open Tender, the 10m Beach Lander Tender, and the 7m Air-Sport 7.0 Tender – all meticulously crafted to match the style and sophistication of the mothership.
