Newquay Orchard will host the grand finale of the NHS’s summer wellbeing festivals on Saturday, 21st September as part of its annual fayre. This free, family-friendly event runs from 10am to 3pm and promises a vibrant mix of workshops, games, crafts, and entertainment, with something for everyone.

A Fun-Filled Day at Newquay Orchard

The festival offers a wide range of activities, including market stalls, bio-blitzing, and even a real-life mermaid. Attendees can enjoy performances from 4Motion Cornwall, SproutSpoken, and the St Agnes Kazookulule Club, as well as live broadcasting from CHAOS Radio. For younger visitors, Imagine Outdoors Together CIC will provide nature-based activities, while Healthy Cornwall will be offering sports taster sessions and Better Leisure Newquay will bring along rowers and other games for the community to enjoy.

Health and Wellbeing Services on Offer

Several local organisations will be present to promote their services and provide health and wellbeing advice. Attendees can expect to see representatives from Eden Project Communities, Cornwall Wildlife Trust, YEP!, Newquay Male Voice Choir, Friends of Newquay Hospital, and more. The festival will also feature services like Smarter Smiles and Healthwatch Cornwall, offering plenty of opportunities to engage with health professionals.

For those looking for a health boost, there’s even the chance to get a free NHS health check on the day. The event promises to deliver a wealth of advice and support to help people live healthier lives.

A Message from the Organisers

Lucy Tuson, Director of Engagement and Communications for NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, expressed her excitement about the final event: “The line-up for the final summer wellbeing festival at Newquay Orchard is going to be fantastic! With music, have-a-go sports, fun family activities, and a real-life mermaid – there is something for everyone planned!”
