Must-See Education Series for Parents and Carers: Headstart Kernow’s New Video Workshops
Forget Netflix – Headstart Kernow is back with a brand-new series for parents and carers, focusing on education.
Following the success of their first series in 2021, which centred on health and wellbeing and reached over 46,000 viewers, Headstart Kernow is now launching a second series with 21 video workshops packed with valuable insights.
A Variety of Topics Covered
The new series, produced with the help of experts from Cornwall Council’s Together for Families (TFF) service, covers a wide range of educational topics. Parents and carers can expect workshops on special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), school applications, attendance, elective home education, and safeguarding. Each session is designed to provide valuable resources, strategies, and guidance from local experts.
These workshops have been filmed live and will be uploaded to the TFF Facebook page every Monday at 7pm, starting July 1. Additionally, a short video will be released each Friday to preview the upcoming week’s content. For those unable to watch live, all sessions will be available for catch-up on the Headstart Kernow website.
Expert Insights and Community Support
Ness Little, HeadStart Digital Resilience, Parent, Carer & Family Lead, expressed excitement about the new series. “We’re absolutely thrilled to present ‘Series 2’ which has been produced with the help of our fantastic Together for Families colleagues here at the council, particularly those who provide support to families in areas related to education.”
Ness emphasised the series’ aim to create a supportive community dedicated to the wellbeing and success of children. “Join us for what promises to be an interesting and exciting journey, hearing and learning from local experts who really know what they are talking about. Our hope is that together we can create a supportive community dedicated to the wellbeing and success of our children.”
Empowering Parents and Carers
The series aims to empower parents and carers by boosting their knowledge and confidence in managing their children’s education. Ness added, “We are totally committed to supporting parents and carers throughout the journey of raising a child. Our sessions aim to empower and provide the information, tools and strategies needed to navigate the education system and help our children thrive. We also had a lot of fun recording them, so I hope that comes across too! Why not check out the TFF Facebook page on Monday, July 1, and give them a go? Popcorn and pick ‘n’ mix are optional of course!”
Headstart Kernow, known for their efforts in building resilience and mental wellbeing for children and young people, continues to offer training courses, events, information, and resources through this engaging series. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to enhance your parenting toolkit.
