Dean Pascoe Leads Third Annual “Africa by Toto” 24-Hour Danceathon for Charity

In an unparalleled display of endurance and commitment, Dean Pascoe is gearing up for his third consecutive year of dancing to the iconic song “Africa” by Toto for a full 24 hours.

This remarkable event aims to raise funds for Transformation CPR, a vital charity known for operating Food Banks in the Camborne, Pool, and Redruth areas, addressing the pressing needs of those experiencing food and financial hardships.

Dean’s past danceathons have successfully raised over £12,000, demonstrating the community’s strong support for this cause. The upcoming event, set to take place at Beacon Cricket Club from 4.00pm on Friday, 22nd March, to 4.00pm on Saturday, 23rd March, promises to be an unforgettable farewell to Dean’s danceathon efforts.

This year’s danceathon is not just a test of Dean’s physical and mental stamina but also a collaborative challenge, as the Transformation CPR team vows to match his dedication by dancing alongside him, embracing the physical feat of completing 320 loops of “Africa,” translating to 86,000 steps or the equivalent of 39 miles. Collectively, participants aim to dance a staggering 975 miles, symbolising the journey from Beacon cricket club to Munich, Germany.

The initiative encourages donations to support Dean and the team’s extraordinary efforts, with a new Corporate Sponsorship Package introduced this year, inviting local businesses to contribute £1,000 in support of this significant event.

Anna Corbett, the CEO of Transformation CPR, highlighted the increased demand for food bank services amid the cost-of-living crisis, emphasising the charity’s holistic approach to support the community. The charity not only provides essential food supplies but also offers services addressing fuel poverty, financial hardships, and health inequalities, underlining the importance of this fundraiser in supporting their wide-ranging assistance programs.

As Dean dances into his “Africa Danceathon Fundraiser” retirement, the event stands as a beacon of hope and solidarity for those facing hardships in the Camborne, Pool, and Redruth areas, reinforcing the community’s commitment to supporting each other during challenging times.
